Star players from Ipswich Town Football Club will visit the Rainbow Unit at West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds on Tuesday, 16th December to give out Christmas presents to children staying on the ward. Media are invited to attend.

Staff working on the 24-bedded ward care for children who have been ill and are often recovering from surgery.

“We are absolutely delighted that players from Ipswich Town Football Club have taken time out from their busy schedule to brighten up the lives of children on the Rainbow Unit,” said Karen Higgins, ward manager.  “It means so much to the children to have visits like this, and I am sure that many of them will be overjoyed to see some real-life football heroes! I want to thank everyone involved from Ipswich Town for their visit, and hope that all the players will enjoy meeting the children and making a fuss of them.”
