You and Your Local Health Services - Annual Public Meeting

West Suffolk Hospitals NHS Trust is holding its Annual Public Meeting on Friday September 24.

Continuing its tradition of holding public meeting's with a difference, this year's theme will be the role of Clinical Support Services in the patient's journey through the hospital.

It features interactive displays from the departments within Clinical Support Services including the patient flow team, health records, radiology, pharmacy, occupational therapy & physiotherapy, pathology, phlebotomy, infection control, dietetics, outpatients, chaplaincy and voluntary services.

Members of the public will be able to take part in a bed meeting and find out how the hospitalšs patient flow team organise beds for those coming into and leaving hospital.

The hospital's infection control team will be checking if visitors' hand washing meets their approval and pathology will be inviting guests to see what bugs like MRSA look like under a microscope and visitors can have a go at taking blood from a life like model arm.

Radiology will be explaining how almost 100 per cent of their work is now film less.

The Annual Public Meeting takes place from 2pm ­ 4.30pm in the hospital's new Education Centre. Light refreshments will be available.

A presentation on how the Trust has performed over the year will take place at 2pm in the Lecture Theatre when there will be a chance for members of the public to ask questions.
