Patient Leaflets now Available Online

6 December 2004

More than 80 patient information leaflets produced by West Suffolk Hospitals NHS Trust are now available online.

Until now, the leaflets have only been available by visiting the Trust or by post. Now they can be downloaded and printed off from the Trust's website.

Leaflets prepared by the Breast Care team, Cardiac Rehabilitation Team, Critical Care Services, Day Surgery Unit, physiotherapy, the stroke unit, Rainbow Ward, and surgical services appear on the site, among others

The leaflets cover a wide range of subjects from a parents' guide for children staying in the hospital's Rainbow Ward to advice on what to do following a heart attack and from what to expect if you are having toenail surgery to how to wash your hands to prevent infection.

Christine Blake, the hospitals Patient Advice and Liaison Service Manager, said: "All our patient leaflets are read by our patient and public reader panel to ensure that they are jargon free and easy to understand. Having them on our website means that they will be accessible to people with Internet access."

To visit the patient information leaflets section of the Trustıs website log on to wsufftrust.org.uk/PALS/PatInfo/ or click on the patient information leaflets icon on the website's homepage.
