New Non Executive Director for West Suffolk Hospital

The Appointments Commission has appointed James Greenwood as a new Non-executive Director on the board of West Suffolk Hospital NHS Trust from 1 June 2005 to 31 May 2009.

James, known as Jim, from Bury St Edmunds, was a Director of Dalehead Foods Ltd in Bury St Edmunds for 16 years.

He has also held management positions at Trinity Meats Ltd in Cambridge, FMC Harris Plc in Ipswich, Danepak in Thetford, Haverhill Meat Products and City Meat Wholesalers and FMC Ltd in Walthamstow.

Jim is married to Diane and the couple have two children Emily, 29, and Ben, 27.

He said: "I am greatly looking forward to using my experience in business to assist the board in ensuring that the hospital continues to provide quality care for the people of West Suffolk.

"Both my children were born at West Suffolk Hospital and I wanted to give something back to the community and more specifically to the NHS locally."

Veronica Worrall, Chairman of West Suffolk Hospital NHS Trust, said: "On behalf of the Board I would like to welcome Jim to the Trust. His experience in local private business and his insight as a local resident will be extremely valuable."

As a non-executive director Jim will receive a remuneration of £5,673 p.a. He has no declared political activity and has held no other ministerial appointments.
