Trust appoints new board director

Consultant anaesthetist Kwee Matheson has been appointed medical director and director of education at the West Suffolk Hospitals NHS Trust.
Dr Matheson has been at the Bury St Edmunds hospital since 1975. She will carry on in her consultant role as well as taking on her new position which includes leading the new arrangements for clinical quality and for education throughout the organisation.
"We are very pleased to appoint Kwee to this very important position," said the trust's chief executive Johanna Finn. "She has long been involved in the education of junior doctors and is committed to multi-disciplinary working. I look forward to working with her and developing clinical excellence in the trust."
Dr Matheson has been a member of the hospital's Post Graduate Education Committee since 1982, a careers advisor for junior doctors, chairman of the National Association of Clinical Tutors and a member of the General Medical Council Revalidation Consultative Group. She will take up her new position in the New Year.
