Open Day for Sudbury midwives
April 22, 2003
Pregnant women in the Sudbury and Glemsford area will benefit from a midwives’ Open Day on Sunday 4th May.
From 2pm until 4pm in the Board Room of the Walnuttree Hospital in Sudbury, the 6 members of The Gainsborough Group Practice Midwives will give out advice and information about all aspects of pregnancy and giving birth.
The Group is a new initiative, and represents a step forward in the provision of maternity care in the Sudbury area. Working in the community, they will provide total care needed during pregnancy and the post-natal period for women registered at Glemsford Surgery and Hardwick House Surgery in Sudbury.
“The relationship between mother and midwife is important, and can go a long way to making the mother feel relaxed and confident during her pregnancy,” said midwife Nicky Dunhill. “During the Open Day each woman will have the opportunity to meet the midwife who will be present at the birth of her baby if she chooses to have her baby at the West Suffolk Hospital.
“Every member of the Gainsborough Midwives is excited to be part of a new team which aims to provide a seamless, professional service to the women in our care.
“At our Open Day, anyone expecting a baby will be able to get expert answers to their queries about any aspect of pregnancy, and all will be made very welcome.”
All pregnant women registered at Glemsford Surgery and Hardwick House Surgery have been invited to the Open Day.
