A new Staff Helpline will be up and running from 2 May so make sure you have a note of the number - 4444. The Staff Helpline will provide you with direct support so next time

·         you feel that your rights, as outlined in the Staff Charter, are not being honoured

·         you want to check out a rumour you have heard

·         you need help to find some information

·         you need advise on a policy to help you understand your rights

reach for your phone and call the Staff Helpline on 4444 from 2 May.

Please note that the Staff Helpline is NOT a counselling line.

The Staff Helpline will be manned every Wednesday between 11am and 12 noon by Helpline Volunteers equipped to answer your questions or direct you to someone who can. Outside this time an ansaphone will record your queries and this will be checked every day.

As far as confidentiality is concerned the Staff Helpline believes that everyone has the right to have their personal details respected. A confidentiality statement has been drawn up and this is outlined below.

The Staff Helpline will run for an initial period of eight weeks and during this time usage will be monitored to help determine the future of the service. We would also welcome your views on the introduction of a Staff Helpline to help determine how we should take this idea forward. Please send your comments to: Jan Bloomfield, Director of Personnel & Corporate Resources.
