God cares about everyone and wants to help all who are suffering or worried in any way.

The Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care Team try to bring God's care and concern to all who are here in the West Suffolk Hospitals. We are involved in an Ecumenical Covenant which is the base from which we work and to which we are all committed.

We are available to see patients, their relatives and members of staff.

You do not have to be 'religious' - if you would like an informal chat we will be happy to spend some time with you. For those who wish we are available for a time of prayer, to administer Holy Communion and other sacraments.

The Chaplains can be contacted on ext 3486 or 3771, where messages may be left if the office is unattended or bleep 636/702.

In an emergency, if a chaplain is unavailable, please contact the Duty Manager or ward staff. Please state if Roman Catholic Chaplain is required.

The Chaplain can provide contact telephone numbers for representatives of other denominations and faiths.

The Chapel of the Good Samaritan ...

is situated just off the front corridor on the ground floor. The Chapel is open 24 hours a day for private prayer, or for those who are seeking space and silence. Prayers are said daily and requests may be left on the form provided in the Lady Chapel (to the left of the altar).

The Sunday Morning Service at 10am is broadcast live on Channel 4 of the Hospital Radio.

Father you are always near us. Amid the cares of life you guide and protect us. When fear overcomes us may we always place our trust in you.

When our future seems to hold nothing may we place our trust in you.

As you are with us now may we one day dwell with you in your heavenly kingdom where we will find true peace.
