West Suffolk Hospitals NHS Trust Business Plan 2005/06

Introduction

This Business Plan for 2005/06 sets out the priorities we need to address over the coming year.  It is clear that this year will be a very demanding one where teamwork will be essential to the improvement of our performance over the coming months. 2005/06 brings to West Suffolk Hospital NHS Trust a significant challenge. Following our unsuccessful application for Foundation Trust status we now need to focus our attention on the future and ensure that the Trust remains in a strong position to continue to provide high quality and effective healthcare to the local population.

Clinical effectiveness, safety, the patient experience and clinical development are as important as the delivery of finance and the other targets. The Trust Board will ensure that we never lose sight of our primary responsibility to the patients we serve and that every decision made considers the implications to clinical service.
