The Trust Board
The Trust Board is the ultimate source of authority in the Trust and gives the overall sense of direction and purpose to the Trust’s activities. It consists of a part-time Non-executive Chairman and five Non-executive Directors drawn from the local community and five Executive Directors, headed by the Chief Executive.

The Board’s role can be characterised as five P’s:
- Planning (where we are going, what shall we do?)
- Performance (how are we doing?)
- People (having the right people in place to implement the Board’s policies and deliver services)
- Pounds and Pence (keeping the money under control)
- Patients (are we delivering services at the right time, place and quality?)

Audit Committee
Membership of the committee comprises: Colin Hilder as Chairman, Mary Jones and John Cullum. Linda Potter attends with external and internal auditors. The Trust Chairman and Chief Executive are occasionally in attendance.

Register of Director’s Interests
Mary Jones is a Regional Trainer, CRUSE Bereavement Care UK and Director of the National Association of Complaints Personnel.
John Cullum is a Suffolk Board Member of the National Probation Service and Director of Bury St Edmunds Golf Club Ltd.
Professor Peter Richards is Chairman of the Professional Conduct Committee, GMC.
Colin Hilder holds directorships with Bearwell Systems Ltd, Brautek Ltd and Sensortek Ltd and is a Governor of Culford School (charitable trust).
Jan Bloomfield is a Board Governor at West Suffolk College.
