Evidence Based Medicine NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) NICE is part of the NHS. Its role is to provide patients, health professionals and the public with authoritative, robust and reliable guidance on current “best practice”. The guidance will cover both individual health technologies (including medicines, medical devices, diagnostic techniques, and procedures) and the clinical management of specific conditions. CASP (Critical Appraisal Skills Programme) CASP's aim is to help health service decision makers, and those who seek to influence decision makers, to develop skills in the critical appraisal of evidence about effectiveness, in order to promote the delivery of evidence-based health care.
