What we do

The West Suffolk Hospital receives some £2.3 million capital funding per annum which is used to refurbish buildings and to replace equipment. A Site Development Control Plan has been produced for the site and is updated every 6 months. Similarly a five year equipment replacement plan is being developed.

The department not only manages the contractors, designers/architects, mechanical/electrical/civil/structural engineers, and quantity surveyors, but also undertakes design work using its in-house team. Liaison via the Senior Nurse Capital and Service Planning ensures that the department maintains close links with the service providers to ensure that all facilities are fit for purpose.
