FOCUS NEWSLETTER

The Focus Newsletter, July 2004 edition, is now available.

The NHS PLAN was formulated after extensive consultation with its clients. The profile of Facilities Management support function has been raised with clearly a greater appreciation at senior and ministerial level of the contribution that is made to the actual outcome of care.  

It is essential we have a clear vision of our shared goals of implementing the NHS plan launched in July 2000. A ten year plan that sets out to deliver to the population of the country a health service fit for the 21st century with services designed around the needs of the patients to improve the health outcome.

The environment of the trust is the shop window for our clients. Patients rate food and cleanliness as virtually the same importance as clinical care in their evaluation of the service they receive.

I want you all to use the web site constructively to reflect your views and cover areas that you feel are important in providing you with resources to carry out your work successfully.

Your knowledge ideas and commitment will be the foundation of our success in taking those small steps in striving towards our shared goals of becoming the best facilities department in the NHS.

What are Facilities Services?

Facilities services have been defined as “the process by which an NHS Trust creates and sustains a caring environment and delivers quality services to meet clinical needs for best value”. It provides a context for clinical care and a direct service interface with patients, staff and visitors.
