What we do
The department provides a wide range of services and amenities that compliment the daily quality of life to the patients and staff at the West Suffolk Hospital.
A large proportion of Hotel Services Staff work behind the scenes; only the results of their hard work are evident.

Service Delivery
Our service delivery is based on our aim to comply with, or exceed, industry practices and environmental standards stated in section four of the NHS plan. This is a long-term plan to radically overhaul the way the Trust delivers its services, with the aim of improving the environment for the benefit of the patients. A recent patient survey rated the food, cleanliness, and the hospital environment in which the patient is treated of equal importance as clinical care in their evaluation of the service.
As a department we will ensure all patients staff and visitors receive appetising, nutritious food in a clean and welcoming environment. The portering staff will also ensure that patients, equipment, and materials are in the correct place at the correct time. This will be achieved through training and development of the workforce who provide a valuable support in maintaining the core activities of the Trust.
Quality Assurance
We will maintain a consistent high standard of service through a registered quality system, key performance indicators, benchmarking with our peers and most important, feed back from our users by the use of questionnaires.
